Colin runs 100 miles for charity
Not content with just running for the bus, a Cardiff bus driver has run an ultramarathon in 24 hours to raise money and awareness for a charity close to his heart.
Colin, who has been employed as a Cardiff bus driver for the last 11 years, decided to take up the challenge of running 100 miles in 24 hours after receiving support from The UK Sepsis Trust when his wife was ill.
Five years ago Colin's wife, Julie, almost lost her life to sepsis after an infection in her spine travelled to her brain. After a long road to recovery, Julie is now well again, and has been able to return to work. Colin has campaigned and fundraised tirelessly to raise awareness of the condition and support The UK Sepsis Trust ever since.
After postponing his first planned run due to the pandemic, the keen runner set out from The Four Candles pub in Oxford at 9am on Friday 26 March and completed his challenge on time the following morning.
Fellow Cardiff Bus driver, Richard, accompanied Colin for support and to transport the food and drinks which were kindly provided by Tesco.
Colin is incredibly grateful for the support he has received, and is blown away by the generosity of others, including the donations from people he met along the route.
